Lummi Island - 3 short hikes - Level 2

We'll enjoy three short hikes on Lummi Island Thursday. Our first hike from Curry Preserve will take us from one side of the island to the other and back. We'll make a stop at Full Bloom Farm for a look-see on our return. 5.5 miles.

Otto Preserve is our next destination where we'll have a lovely walk through the woods. 1.25 miles.

Aiston Preserve, a former quarry, is the site for our final hike. We'll first hike up to the overlook, then hike down to the remnants of the old quarry, almost to water level. 1.25 miles.

We'll meet in the New Street lot at 7:15 to arrange carpooling with departure at 7:30. Our goal is to catch the 8:10 ferry.

Cost for the ferry for 3 or 4 passengers will be $10 per person, payable on the ferry by one credit card (no cash) per car. Suggested gas donation $2.

Much of the hike is exposed, so sunscreen and hats are recommended.  Snack, lunch, water - you know the drill.

This isn't a typical Level 2 hike, but you'll see some great views and may decide to return with your grandkids or out-of-town visitors.

This will be a long day, so plan accordingly.

Please let me know if you'll meet us at Gooseberry Point, the Lummi Ferry Dock area on Lummi, or at the Curry Preserve parking area.
